how do i get this sort of power from a late model 7.3 non turbo?

what i have may not make too much sense to most true ford guys, but ive always wanted to own a 93 f350 crewcab dually, well i found one in a oil company field after it sat with a blown 7.3 powerstroke, what i did is took my f250 7.3 IDI non turbo and put it in where the powerstroke was, now i have an underpowered engine in a very heavy dually, i dont have too much knowledge in any diesel, so how can i create this non turbo to produce around 800hp? what trick or aftermarket parts could do this? most would ask why do this?, i answer why not, lol.


well to be honest the 7.3 or 6.9 idi is not gonna make 800hp. a banks turbo with injectors and some pump work ect might get you to 325 hp at the crank. the injection system is not designed to flow that much fuel and the heads cant flow enough air. after that your talking major engine work and drugs water meth ect to hit 400 or so hp. even the powerstrokes take alot of $ to make 800hp with a 7.3 but its doable.

what is the high oil pump pressure on a 1999 7.3 powerstroke diesel?


No, not 65PSI and thats not even an answer to the question. Diesel detonates with heat and compression. Due to the immense compression, you need a lot of pressure to inject diesel fuel into the cylinder. This is done with a high pressure oil pump and hydraulic physics. The 7.3 will not start until the PCM sees 500psi oil pressure from the ICP. Now the ICP can be biased and giving a false signal. The HPOP will make roughly up to 3000psi. This pressure goes to the oil side of the injectors to give pressure to inject the fuel. And the injector has an intensifier piston that amplifies the oil pressure by 7. So fuel can be injected up to ~21,000psi

    Nothing of Value to be Found in Here...

    After buying a GM 6.5L Diesel on a whim from an auction, I made this techbook my first purchase. I mean, I expected a Haynes manual titled "Diesel Engine Repair Manual" and covering the GM 6.5L Diesel engine to have some measure of information specific to the diesel engine. Boy, was I sorely disappointed.Take, for example, the subject of the pump mounted driver. This is the solenoid pack that governs the electronic fuel injection pump and it has a notoriously high fail rate (as I discovered through both personal experience and the many, many vehicle forums dedicated to the issue). Does the Haynes manual cover the repair or replacement of the PMD? Nope. Does the Haynes manual give you a diagram of the PMD or label it on a diagram of the injection pump? Nope. But wait, you say, surely the manual references it? Nope. Not even a note in the index. As far as the Haynes manual is concerned, the PMD doesn't exist.How about routine maintenance?
