DENSO Develops a New Diesel Common Rail System with the World's Highest ...

  • Higher Injection Pressure:      • In 2012, DENSO commercialized the world’s first engine control system called intelligent-Accuracy Refinement Technology (i-ART), in which the injectors have a built-in pressure sensor to measure fuel injection...      By improving the design structure of the injector, fuel pump, and common rail, DENSO significantly decreased the workload of the fuel pump by reducing the amount of fuel that was sent back to the fuel tank by about 90 percent. Improved design structure to decrease workload of fuel pump:      In a common rail system, a portion of the fuel delivered from the fuel pump to the injectors is used for purposes such as lubricating system components.

Runnins 6.0L PSD deletes solve problems?

Looking at buying a 2006 F250 Super Duty with the 6L PowerStroke with a ZF6 manual trans and from what I've read some of the problems were caused mostly by people who did performance mods to the engines to "roll coal" making them run rich and caused carbon build up in the EGR cooler and turbo. Would doing the deletes and running a tuner designed to keep the air/fuel more on the lean side would this help and also doing ARP head studs with a thicker head gasket? I would go with a 2003 7.3L with a ZF but finding one is very hard in my area. Yes 2003 was the final year so don't say otherwise. In my state there are no emission laws anymore so it'll be legal to do the deletes including the CAT delete and running dual 4" straight pipe to keep EGTs at a minimal plus I would also be running a Pyro, boost, oil temp, fuel pressure, and tranny temp gauges especially when I am working it hard.

Here in Canada most of the problems I have seen with the 6.0 are due to poor fuel quality, lack of maintenance, high idle times and performance mods. The 6.0 was designed to run on US#1 diesel when the sulphur content of fuel was higher, Canada and some states have a lower grade diesel in use (lower cetane rating) and ALL north american jurisdictions have removed the sulphur compounds from diesel to reduce emissions. To combat this go to your local Ford dealer and buy PM 22 B performance enhancer (in cold weather use PM 23 B) this is a cetane boost with a lubricant for the injectors, the pm 23 b is the same product with an anti-gel for winter use. Burning the proper fuel will give you a cleaner hotter burn, improve performance and will produce less carbon. The lubrication will not only make the injectors last longer but operate freely preventing hanging or sticking of the injectors which can cause one cylinder to over fuel while another is running lean. High idle times cause a problem because at idle the engine runs too cold to give a proper and complete burn causing excessive carbon build up or coking in the cylinders and egr system. If you need to idle a lot install a high idle switch and use it. The injectors in this engine use pressurized oil to pressure up the injector dirty or broken down oil will not do this (foaming oil due to anti-foam agents breaking down) will not pressurize properly and dirt will gum up and cause improper operation of the injectors and will eventually wreck them. Use a quality oil with the CJ-4 rating and the Ford FL 2016 oil filter - this filter is patent protected and NO aftermarket or jobber filter can properly replace it, I have seen injectors turbos and yes engines destroyed by trying to skimp on oil changes...the $10-15 saved on oil changes will NOT pay for a $12,000 engine replacement. With the tuners I recommend a programmer and purchasing a couple of programs....the rv or tow pattern is usually the best choice for most drivers...the

My Nissan Xtrail diesel cuts out?

It cuts out when cold as when I stop at the traffic lights, but when its warmed up it doesnt cut out. and runs fine Whats up as no one knows!!! Thanks

This could be a lack of fuel pressure from the electrical pump at the tank. If the connections to this are corroded or damaged then the pump could stop at any time or could not be running at full speed. Check that its relay switches in and out and the relay contacts are clean and bright – replace the relay if in any doubt and do the same for the fuse, Ideally measure the pressure at the inlet to the main engine fuel pump and if this is low check the pump as described and also consider changing the fuel filter as if this partially blocked this too will reduce pressure. If both of these are OK then also check the connections to the EGR valve, if either the vacuum pipe of electrical connection are damaged / corroded then the EGR can be on all time which certainly will hurt performance. Its also possible that its a fault with the EGR valve so its worth removing the valve and cleaning it out with brake cleaner, if it looks particularly clogged then replace it. If this is OK then check the small vacuum lines to the turbo and its connected control solenoid on the bulkhead, any cracks or leaks can give turbo issues and its best to have the boost pressure measured to check that the turbo is healthy Also worth checking that the glow-plug relay is switching off as they can stick on and leave the glow plugs also on - on some cars this can force it into limp home Also worth considering a bottle of injector cleaner into the tank as a clogged injector nozzle will reduce power and give poor combustion - the next stage on from this is to remove all the injectors and have them ultrasonically cleaned and flow checked If the above are all OK then try checking for airleaks after the airflow meter, any air dragged in here isn't 'seen' by the ECU and so not compensated for and leans the engine out causing rough running. As its a mechanical fault it tends not to turn on the fault light and you

Bottle (Automotive) I am somewhat of a Royal Purple fan boy at this point. I have to say when I saw this product released I said to myself, "What does Royal Purple know about fuel cleaning?" I bought it anyhow. I use shell gasoline to try to keep my fuel system clean. Additionally, I run techron fuel system cleaner through pretty often because my car is aging and has never had a fuel filter change. I was skeptical to say the least. As others stated this is enough liquid to do multiple treatments for some vehicles, a definite plus. Long story short, I put it in my car after having run techron only a month before and have seen sustained improvements in my fuel economy. I won't be buying techron again. It's not a miracle worker, but it helps and if it helps out an aging fuel pump it is well worth the money. I will be buying more. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 27, 2013

I used this product and drove the car for a couple of hours and 50 plus miles to a carshow and it now seems to run smoother and the engine does not stumble under hard exceleration. Definitely plan to purchase several bottles to have and hand and use regularly. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 25, 2013

Kept MPG records over last few years. So that would take out the temperature influence upon the MPG. I was previously averaging about 26-28 MPG last year, but now average about 29-31 MPG over the last 8 tanks(so unlike the other fuel cleaners which last only 1 tank). Also I have changed my fuel filter did not yield me this amount of MPG gained.Pros:-It works as advertised. -Big enough for multiple treatments.Cons:-Expensive compared to other fuel cleaners. -(As of now hard to find in store) 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 15, 2013

Lubricates well, increases mpg, not a great cleaner

This product does bump mpg a couple percentage points, especially on middle aged engines, but the effect wears off when the treatment runs out. The mpg increases aren't a result of your engine getting much cleaner, but due to less friction between the piston and the wall. This is why it is marketed primarily as an "UPPER CYLINDER Lubricant" (UCL). The bottle also claims to help valves seal better, presumably by filling in any small gaps with its oily viscosity. If this or piston/wall gap is way out of spec I doubt this or any other "filler" will help improve compression much.If there is so much carbon on a valve that is not sealing you'll be better off pouring a dedicated cleaner like Seafoam through the intake. It also helps if your car is burning oil due to carbon-ed up oil control rings. It is doubtful that Lucas UCL will clear major deposits, but perhaps it helps keep deposits away in the first place if used regularly on a healthy, well maintained engine. If your... 4/5 Lindsay (NY, United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Lucas 10020 Fuel Treatment - 5.25 oz. Ethanol Damage Reducer

Listen folks google Ethanol Damage and see what is going on these days. Our engines are being burnt up due to the ethanol in our gas. You have to use something to help with the drying effect of ethanol. I use a couple things, MMO Techron and this product. Techron is a great cleaner, but does not help lubricate the upper cylinder and this product does. MMO is like between the two products, a decent cleaner and a decent lube. Lucas Upper Cylinder is the "Lube" only, even though it says cleaner it is not. The "cleaner" is a product they use in oil that cleans, but not in the sense as you know what a cleaner is. The cleaner in MMO and Techron are flat out solvents which are very good cleaners. This product has no solvent, and the cleaner is an additive that cleans similar to what calcium does for engine oil. Whether or not you "feel" a difference has nothing to do with your cylinders needing this lube to protect your engine. Preventative maintenance

No mileage improvement on new car.I bought this for PM and really didn't expect and increase in mileage. Based on all the reviews I believe this will keep my new car running like new for a long time.My car has two MPG meters built in. I started using this additive after break-in at 6,000 miles. Not surprised since the car is new.The engine is definitly quieter in the morning when 1st started (cold start). (I start the motor in the garage with my window open, so all the engine sounds are amplified)I will continue to use this additive to prevent fuel system problems and offset the negative effects of methanol...Usage: Label instructions are "2-3oz per 10gals". Check engine light!!!

So, the "check engine" light came on two of our vehicles, 1) 1998 Dodge Dakota truck V6 with 175K 2) 1999 Honda Accord V6 with 145k. I figured it was the O2 sensor on the truck and I was a bit upset with the Honda as we had just paid for a full tune up and then the darn "check engine" light came on. Prior to the tune up on the Honda we were experiencing hesitation when stepping on the gas from a stop, local oil change place suggested a fuel injector cleaning, we did that which helped somewhat. Full tune helped even more, but then the light came on.While waiting for a oil change at W-mart I saw this product on the shelf, I figured it couldn't hurt and added 3oz to both fuel tanks on the Dakota and the Honda. I just drove about a quarter of a tank on the truck and when I started it up this afternoon the "check engine" light was gone! I called my daughter who now has the Honda and she said light and the hesitation is totally gone!I went to their website and... 5/5 mrtoad (SHORELINE, WA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Lucas 10013 Fuel Treatment - 1 Gallon (Automotive) So, the "check engine" light came on two of our vehicles, 1) 1998 Dodge Dakota truck V6 with 175K 2) 1999 Honda Accord V6 with 145k. Great spring/summer/fall additive

I've been using Power Service in my Golf for the 2 years I've had it and my average MPG is 47 (my car is only rated for 44 highway). There is a noticeable boost in fuel mileage when using the grey bottle (THIS one- 03080)- I'd say I get 3 or 4 MPG better. My best using Power Service was 56 MPG; 65 MPH on a warm couple of days (75 degrees F minimum). My car is also noticeably more quiet when using the grey one vs. using nothing; the white additive is louder than the grey additive (diesel "clatter").I bought 6 glass material film developing chemical bottles that are 8 fluid ounces each; I fill up almost all the way and pour them into my tank when I fill up. I fill 3 of the bottles with 03080 and 3 with 01080. I generally carry 2 of them (one white one grey) in a cavity that is where the emergency medical kit can be found; if I go on a road trip, I take all 6 and store the extras near the spare tire. (Automotive) I've been using Power Service in my Golf for the 2 years I've had it and my average MPG is 47 (my car is only rated for 44 highway). With my car, 6 of them gives me about 4800 miles of range. Nice because I... Read more Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 7, 2013

The best product you will ever buy!

I have a '92 Ford F-150 4.9L I6 with 135K on it. The idle was a little rough and the power was a little lack-luster, but that's really what I expected from a 13-year old truck. After a while, I started getting a knock that really impacted performance. The only way I could keep the knock at bay was to run 92 octane gas, which was really getting expensive. I went into the local auto parts store to look for some type of cleaner, when the employee said that Sea Foam would solve all my problems and told me that I could get my money back if it didn't. Very skeptical of his claims, I bought it anyhow to give it a try. With the engine hot I put the first 1/3 of the can into the large brake booster vacuum line slowly at first, then sucked as much in as quickly as possible until the engine stalled. I replaced the vacuum line and waited for about 15 minutes and started it up. It started a little hard at first being flooded with the Sea Foam, but while revving the gas, it soon ran very... 5/5 T. The ONLY Cleaner that Worked for Me

I have a 1999 Mercedes-Benz C230 that had ~144,000 miles on it. The idle was very rough and noisy, and the engine wasn't as smooth as it should have been in general, especially at lower engine speeds. The problem was so bad that the engine would almost stall at idle after first being started.I tried Lucas "Upper Cyclinder Lubricant and Injector Cleaner", and it didn't seem to help at all. Then I put a full 20-oz bottle of Chevron Techron through the fuel tank, and it also seemed to do nothing. In each case, the product was used as directed, and the car was driven until the fuel level was very low. That is, I didn't refill the fuel tank and dilute the product in either case. In the past, I've also used other brands of fuel system and fuel injector cleaners, including Gumout and STP. None of these products seemed to have the slightest effect. Finally, and extremely skeptical, I tried Sea Foam Motor Treatment. I put a full 16-oz bottle in the fuel tank... 5/5 -1 - See all my reviews This review is from: Sea Foam SF-16 Motor Treatment - 16 oz. Works too well.

I wish I had not told a, now former, co-worker about this product. He had an old diesel Mercedes sedan. The car was not running well, smoking, sputtering, etc. I looked at it and told him how to use the product to save the car. He took his time getting around to it and almost sold it to me for 300 dollars. I then asked him if he had used Seafoam yet. He told me no. Was going to sell the car to me in 2 weeks. He then asked me how to use it. I told him to buy 2 cans, replace the fuel filter (spin on type for diesels), and fill it with Seafoam then install. Then take the rest the rest of the first bottle and dump into fuel tank if empty go to fuel station and re-fill then add second bottle or if full already add the rest of the first bottle and then the whole second bottle. He did that, it ran so well he would not sell it to me after that. He told me it ran better then when he had bought it. It also caused the gunk in his tank to free up and plug his fuel lines requiring a... 5/5 O. This review is from: Star brite Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment Gas Additive (8 oz) (Sports) STAR TRON MAKE TWO STRENGTHS OF THIS ADDITIVE. I CALLED THEM DIRECTLY .THIS IS THE WEAKER VERSION. BOTH ARE GOOD BUT ONE TREATS A LOT LESS GAS. THIS IS A FACTOR WHEN IT COMES TO PRICE. CONCENTRATED VERSIONS TREAT OVER 2.5 MORE GALLONS OF GAS. BUT DOESN'T COST TWICE AS MUCH. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 5, 2011

Great product . It really works

I have to say this is the best fuel treatment product I have found to date!!! I like most of you out there have had problems with my small engine powered products since the introduction of E10. I owned my snow thrower for exactly one year before I had to have the carb torn apart because of this. I was for a time shutting the gas off to some products and waiting a few moments to starve the carb of gas but I also found this isn't reliable either. The ONLY thing that I have found that really works is Star Tron Star Bright. Sure its a goofy name and initially it looks expensive but it is super concentrated. It goes a long way and most importantly it WORKS. A note on concentration: make sure you read the label there is apparently two concentrations. I finished up one bottle bought another and happened to look at the label and found different mixing instructions. They say right on the label that over dousing won't hurt anything but there is no need to pay more than you need to. I now use... 5/5 James Lajoie - See all my reviews This review is from: Star brite Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment Gas Additive (8 oz) (Sports) I have to say this is the best fuel treatment product I have found to date!!!
